This salawat was compiled by the leading saints of his time. Sayyid Ahmad al-Badawi has the following story:

This eminent person read the ‘Dalail-i Hayrat’, a collection composed of salawats to the Rasul of Allah (saw), fourteen times in one day and then peacefully fell asleep… In his dream he saw the Rasul of Allah (saw) who told him, “If instead of reading the Dalaili Hayrat fourteen times you had read this salawat only once, it would have been sufficient.”

The Dalail-i Hayrat is an invaluable collection comprising hundreds of salawats! Yet reading the salawat above just once is considered more valuable than reading the entire collection fourteen times over! If only we can read it at least once a day!

O Allah! Grant Your blessings to our master Muhammad, the ocean of Your Nur, the source of Your secrets, the tongue of Your proof, the bridegroom of Your kingdoms, the leader of Your presence, the embroidery of Your dominion, the vault of Your grace, the way of Your law, the delight of Your Oneness, the pupil of the eye of existence, the cause of all existence. Let these blessings be lasting for as long as You last and be remaining as long as You remain, blessings which are limitless in Your knowledge, blessings that please You, that please him and by which You are pleased with us, O Rabb of the Worlds.

This salawat is recommended especially for those who want to advance spiritually. This is the salawat that Hadhrat Ali (ra), the sultan of the inner world, read and claimed its value was equivalent to 70 thousand salawats. Can one ever comprehend the value of this salawat recommended by the gate of knowledge and wisdom, I do not know...

Allahumma salli salatan kaamilatan wa sallim salaamaan taamman `alaa sayydeedinaa Muhammadin l’illadhee tanhallu bihi l-uqadu wa tanfariju bihi l-kurabu wa tuqdaa bihi l-hawaaij wa tunaalu bihi r-raghaaibu wa husnu l-khawaatimi wa yustasqaa l-ghamaamu biwaj’hihi l-kareemi wa `alaa alihi wa sahbihi fee kulli lamhatin wa nafsin bi `adadi kulli m`aaloomin laka

O Allah, grant Your blessings to our master Muhammad, the person via whom all knots are undone, all distress and sadness is removed, all needs are met, all desires and beauties are reached, for the sake of whose noble face rain is dispersed from the clouds, and his family and companions, at all times and continually, with perfect and consummate praise and blessing.

I’ve included this well known salawat here for those who may not be aware of it. Time and time again, it has been experienced that favorable results are quickly reached when those in difficulty assemble and read this salawat 4,444 times in total, with the intention of finding relief from a particular difficulty.

O Allah, the Rabb of this perfect call and of this prayer to be performed, bestow upon Muhammad al waseelah (a station in Paradise) and al fadeelah (a rank above the rest of creation) and send him upon a raised platform which You have promised him. Verily, You never fail in Your Promise.

The Rasul of Allah (saw) says:

“Whoever listens to the adhan without speaking and repeats its words and then reads this prayer, my intercession will be compulsory upon him in the afterlife.”[1]

Indeed, all believers, especially those who have committed major mistakes, are going to be in serious need of the Rasul of Allah.

Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyeedina Muhammadin wa Aadam wa Noohin wa Ibraheem wa Moosa wa `Isaa wa maa baynahum mina n-nabiyyeena wa l-mursaleena salawaatu l-lillahi wa salaamuhu alayhim ajma`een

O Allah! Grant Your blessings upon Muhammad, Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and all the Nabis and Rasuls that have come in between them... May the praise and blessings of Allah be upon them all.

This salawat, taught by the Rasul of Allah (saw), was narrated by Hadhrat Aisha (ra):

“Whoever reads this salawat before going to bed, all of the Nabis and Rasuls that have come to earth will intercede for him in the afterlife.”

What better than the intercession of all the Nabis and Rasuls? Let us then read this salawat at least once before going to bed every night…
