Wa’in yamsaska Llaahu biḍurrin falaa kaashifa lahu illaa huwa wa’in yuridka bi khayrin falaa raada lifaḍlihi yuṣeebu bihi yashaa’ min `ibaadihi wa huwa l-ghafooru l-raḥeemu[1]

And if Allah should afflict you with an adversity, none can lift it other than Him! If He wills a good for you, none can repel His bounty either! He causes His bounty to reach whom He wills of His servants... He is the Ghafur, the Rahim.

This prayer is recommended for those who are suffering from distress, depression or who have been afflicted by an unfavorable situation. Repeating it 100 times a day is proven to bring great benefit. Allah will lead the person out of that state into a state of well-being.

For whomever this kind of turning has been eased by Allah, surely deliverance is near!

Rabbi irḥamhumaa kamaa rabbayanee ṣagheeran[2]

My Rabb... Be merciful to them, as they tamed me when I was young.

The biggest responsibility one has is his responsibility to his parents. It is very difficult for us to pay the due of our parents, the means by which we come to life. But this verse teaches us a prayer we can make for them, simple to utter yet very deep in meaning. If we feel any responsibility at all in our conscience to even partly pay them back for everything they have done for us, we should most definitely include these words in our prayers.

Rabbi awzi`anee an ashkura ni`mataka llatee an`amta `alayya wa `alaa waalidayya wa an a`maala ṣaalihan tarḍaahu wa aṣlih lee fee dhurriyyatee innaa tubtu ilayka wa’innee mina l-muslimeena[3]

My Rabb... Enable me and my parents to be grateful for the blessings You have bestowed upon us from Your favor, and to engage in deeds that will please You... And make righteous my offspring. I have repented to You and indeed I am of the Muslims (those who are aware of their submission)!

Abu Bakir as-Siddiq (ra) was the cause for the revelation of the above verse. His prayer regarding the guidance of his family was accepted by Allah and confirmed with this verse.

We could do an enormous good for our family and lineage if we also make this prayer on a continual basis. It is especially recommended to include this prayer after salat.

Inna rabbi yabsutur rizqa liman yashao wa yaqdiroo lah wa anta khayrur raziqeena

My Rabb, indeed You expand the provision of whom You will and constrain it for whom You will. You are the best of providers.

If this prayer is made together with the 26-27th verses of chapter Ali-Imran, those who are suffering from scarcity (both spiritual and material) will find great relief. The recommended reading of this prayer is 300 times a day.

Rabbi adkhilnee mudkhala ṣidqin wa akhrijnee mukhraja ṣidqin waaji`al lee min ladunka sulṭaanan nasẹeran[4]

My Rabb, wherever I enter make me enter in Truth and from wherever I exit make me exit in Truth, and form from Yourself (Your ladun; manifestation of a special angelic force from your grace) victorious power!

This is one of the most important prayers in the Quran. Here, Allah teaches us to enter something in truthfulness, to complete it upon truthfulness and to be equipped with divine power for its completion.

The word ‘truthfulness’ (sidq) encapsulates righteousness, submission, good intention and trustworthiness.

The reason why Abu Bakr (ra) is known as the ‘siddiq’ is because he carries all of these qualities. To initiate an affair or enter a place equipped with all of these qualities is obviously the first step toward success. The second step is to have divine support; of course, the qualified ones will know the importance of this…

May Allah support us with a power from His Self, for as long as we work on His path…

Rabbanaa aatinaa min ladunka raḥmatan wahayy’i lanaa min amrinaa rashadan[5]

Our Rabb (the Name composition comprising our essential reality), grant us a grace (a blessing with Your favor) from Yourself (with a special force manifesting from the absolute station of the Names, Your essence) and form within us a state of perfection in this matter.
