The Quran in general is divided into chapters (surah) and verses (ayat). It is additionally divided into 30 equal sections, called juz . Of note, division into Juzʾ has no relevance to the meaning of the Quran and anyone can start reading from anywhere in the Quran. The divisions of juz do not fall evenly along chapter lines. These divisions make it easier to pace the reading over a month’s period, reading a fairly equal amount each day. This is particularly important during the month of Ramadan, when it is recommended to complete at least one full reading of the Quran from cover to cover. Some use this divisions to facilitate recitation of the Quran in a month, especially during Ramadan when the entire Quran is recited in the Tarawih prayers, reciting approximately one juzʾ a night.
The 29th juz’ of the Quran includes eleven surahs (chapters) of the holy book, from the first verse of the famous 67th chapter (Al-Mulk 67:1) and continuing to the end of the 77th chapter (Al-Mursalat 77:50). While this juz' contains several complete chapters, the chapters themselves are somewhat short, ranging in length from 20-56 verses each.
“The angels and the Spirit will return to their essence in a period (which will seem to you to be) of fifty thousand years (the period of time to reach Allah in their essence).” (Quran 70:4)
“When they are shown to each other... To save themselves from the punishment of that period, the guilty ones will want to offer their sons to the fire in their stead... And his wife and his brother; and his nearest kindred who shelter him and everything on earth so that it could save him!” (Quran 70:11-14)
“And Allah causes you to grow from the earth gradually like a plant (the body that comes from the earth continues its life as consciousness). Then He will return you into it and again extract you from it. And Allah has made for you the earth an exhibition (living environment), so that you may traverse therein, on spacious ways.” (Quran 71:17-20)
“Our inadequate understanding has been making us claim foolish things about Allah! We had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak a lie about Allah. And yet there were men and women from mankind who sought refuge in men and women from the jinn, thereby increasing (provoking each other) in excessive (carnal) behavior.” (Quran 72:4-6)
“Remember (dhikr) the qualities of the Names comprising your essence; your Rabb, and seclude yourself to Him in complete devotion.” (Quran 73:8)
“O covered one; arise and awaken!” (Quran 74:1-2)
“Had there not been a time (dahr), when the name of man was not uttered? (What is the validity of a piece of ice in the vastness of the ocean? i.e. man was not yet manifest; he was the unmanifest within the dimension of the Names).” (Quran 76:1)
“You cannot will unless Allah wills (your will is Allah’s will)...” (Quran 76:30)
